Markéta Stránská (CZ) is a choreographer, performer and physiotherapist based in the Czech republic. She has been inspired by dance since her childhood. At the age of 6, she started dancing in a folkdance group. During her high school studies, a puppet theatre caught her imagination. She also has 2 years’ work experience as a member of a non-profit organization, Clown Doctor, which helps to bring joy and humor to healthcare facilities. Since 2012, she´s been an active member of the Czech contemporary dance scene – she is either participating in regular contemporary dance lessons and workshops, or is performing. Recently she has joined Candoco Dance Company as a dancer. As a choreographer, she likes to observe and get inspired by day-to-day activities, movements and routines. She simply refuses to take our stereotypes for granted, but, quite to the contrary, she seeks to find the significance and richness of their very essence.
